The year of 2005 was full of natural disasters and man-made catastrophes under the name of "War on Terror" and "Sacred War." I do hope this new year will be filled with love and care for all living on this beautiful blue planet.

A few months ago, I met a scholar-activist for peace from India, and I exchanged my book, "Flowers and Bombs" with his book, "Reflections and Mobilizations." The book written by Dr. Ananta Kumar Giri contains a number of organizations and people who believe that another world is possible. A world without poverty. A world without war.

Though what I am doing now is almost meaningless in this vast world, it is very inspiring and encouraging to know that there are so many friends in the world who are striving to achieve the same goal.

Almost two years have passed since I published "Flowers and Bombs" and started peace actions. During this past two years, I was offered a lot of help from wonderful people in Japan, the US, the UK, Australia, Thailand, Korea and even from Afghanistan!

A new year has just started. And I have decided to keep renewing this blog so that I can let my friends know that what is being done for peace in my action of "Flowers and Bombs," and that I can join the group of friends struggling for the same goal. Thanks to Dr. Giri's book, I have recognized that we are not alone and all united.

I am going to finish this year's first entry of mine with my tanka poem dedicated to my friends all over the world.

Gather voices of
"No War" all over the world
Tie them to balloons
Fly the balloons in the sky
Let them wrap up the White House
