Seventeen days after the earthquake
The smoke from Fukushima daiichi nuclear power plant should be and must be the sign of the end of nuclear power era. It is so great to see that more and more people are standing against nuclear power plants in Germany, Italy or France, and it is so sad to see what is happening here in Japan. Even after this devastating damage caused by nuclear power, the government and businesses of Japan are still insisting that Japan has no choice but nuclear power to drive this "highly-developed country."
"But clearly, if you want to actually have civil defense, the real issue here is to prevent this from happening. And we believe that means to be -- mean you promptly shut down these most dangerous reactor designs all over the world, and then we begin the rapid phase-out of this inherently dangerous technology and phase in a 21st century energy policy of renewable energy and energy efficiency" said Mr.Paul Gunter of the nuclear watchdog group Beyond Nuclear in a show of Democracy Now!
The most dangerous reactors of the same design, Hamaoka nuclear power plant, are still generating power on the spot where Tokai great earthquake is expected to occur in the near future. The plant must be shut down before too late.
Please help us to shut down the nuclear power plant and start a 21st century energy policy of renewable energy right now and right here in Japan. We need your voice from abroad.
Here is a rally against nuclear power plants on the 27th of March.
Please have a look and you will know how badly we need help from the world.

Eight days after the earthquake
One big difference of this catastrophe from Kobe of 1995 is the disaster caused by Fukushima nuclear power plant. Japan has depended on nuclear power for decades, but we have finally noticed that human beings can control neither nuclear power nor mother nature. Once the accident happens we have nothing to prevent the long-lasting damage.
I hear that many more people in the world are standing against nuclear power plants now. We need your help and voice to stop the most dangerous nuclear power plant in Japan. Hamaoka nuclear power plant in Shizuoka is said to be the most dangerous because of an expected devastating earthquake. Please tell your government or IAEA to work to stop the plant, and work to shut down all the nuclear power plants all over the world.
Love & Peace,
Kaoru Kobashi

Dear my readers and friends in the world
The earthquake and tsunami in Tohoku-area in Japan were devastating. However, as I experienced a big earthquake in Kobe in 1995, I can see how the people and the cities there will be recovered and restored.
And I deeply appreciate all the heartwarming words from friends in the world.
With all the help and prayers from the world, we will rebuild a more beautiful country in peace and harmony in the future.
With much of love,
Kaoru Kobashi
