Tanka Poems written 20 years ago: March
Twenty years ago today, the US president Bush declared war on Iraq based on the false evidence.
Somewhere on the earth
Is bombed hard this morning
Here as usual in
All innocence my dog nags
Me to take him for a walk
地球上のどこかに爆弾降る朝も
犬は無邪気に散歩をせがむ
It was when my late dog was one year old, and small peach blossoms were blooming in my little garden. Twenty years later now, I have lost both of them.

In 2023, Japan has a plan to buy 400 Tomahawk missiles. For what? They are such old and slow missiles which killed tens of thousands of vulnerable children and citizens in Iraq in 2003 and 1991. I don't want my tax money to be used to prepare for an absurd war.
Are you ready, kids?
Jump onto a cruise missile
Buckle up and hang on
'Cause we're gonna take a
Sightseeing trip to the full moon
さあみんな巡航ミサイルにまたがって
月に向かってクルーズしよう

Tanka Poems written 12 years ago
Twelve years ago, in March, Fukushima Daiichi nuclear reactors were severely damaged due to the great tsunami and earthquake. The three reactors were out of control and what I could do was just pray to get the melted-down nuclear fuel rods cooled down somehow.
Guanyin Bodhisattva!
Take your water bottle and
Pour water into
The uranium burning in
Decay heat out of control
水瓶の水流し込め観世音
崩壊熱に燃ゆるウランへ
