The news article above starts with "Japan will soon begin releasing treated radioactive water into the ocean following approval from the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog for a controversial plan that comes 12 years after the Fukushima nuclear meltdown."

However, even the IAEA itself writes in its report as follows;

Finally, I would like to emphasise that the release of the treated water stored at Fukushima Daiichi Power Station is a national decision by the Government of Japan and that this report is neither a recommendation nor an endorsement of that policy. (iii) 　

Moreover, the IAEA has a principle of Justification which says "Facilities and activities that give rise to radiation risks must yield an overall benefit." (p. 18)

Who will get the benefit? It's just TEPCO only. Others are just to be exposed to and contaminated with radioactive substances. We need more discussions including more people and concerns related to this radioactive water.

Do you know Takahama nuclear reactor 1 near Kyoto, which began its operation in 1974, and has been shut down since 2011? It is not only old but very dangerous because the reactor's brittleness temperature is 99 degrees Celsius. It is scheduled to restart on 28th of July, which means in 9 days . 

It is nothing but the countdown to another nuclear disaster. In the end, it will radioactively contaminate Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe or Nagoya, and it will destroy the lives of tens of millions of people, causing millions to be displaced. It must be stopped before the tragedy occurs.
