“One Day in Hiroshima” from an A-bomb survivor

I had a precious opportunity to hear a voice of an A-bomb survivor in person. She was seven years old when the A-bomb was dropped in Hiroshima, and what she told was so detailed and moving. At the special gathering, Dr. Kamada talked about his book, which is translated into several languages and can be read in PDF.

I’d like to share the sites hoping their voices will widespread.

Here is the English version:

*Hiroshima no Obāchan* ("Grandma from Hiroshima"), the English title“One Day in Hiroshima,”was written in 2005 by Dr. Nanao Kamada (Professor Emeritus at Hiroshima University and a board member of the IPPNW Japan affiliate). In the book, an elderly *hibakusha* (atomic bomb survivor) living in a nursing home for survivors explains the destructive power of atomic radiation and its health effects in response to questions from visiting children. The layout features the grandmother's answers to the children on the left-hand page and a medical explanation on the right, making the content accessible to readers of all ages.

French, German, Spanish versions are also available: https://www.hiroshima.med.or.jp/ippnw/books/
